How old were you when you first smoked weed & what made you want to do it?

I was 18. First year of University. I've always been around marijuana smokers, my Uncle's both indulged when I was growing up, one of them now being a full fledged Rastafarian, so I knew quite a bit about it already.

I just wanted to understand the basis of it, the feel of it, on my own terms. No one pressured me, none of my close friends smoked, it was just a decision I made by myself one morning.

So I asked a friend, a transfer student from Jamaica ironically, to let me smoke with him. He lived in the dorms of my school, I went there after class one day, smoked & wandered through the halls in complete wonder.

It was different.
